The Basic reed work is what it sounds like, it's a step up from a stock harmonica, but nowhere near the level of the Master reed work (which we highly recommend). Bends are easier (on diatonic models), and the tuning is more accurate. The overall response on blow and draw notes is better, and the harmonica has more volume compared to a standard stock harmonica.
Here are some of the technical specifications for the Basic reed work.
Reed plate (diatonic)
The draw reed plate is flat-sanded for improved airtightness.
Tuning
Chromatic harmonicas are tuned to Equal Temperament, while Diatonic harmonicas use my own unique compromised tuning, as shown in the chart below. However, we can tune the harmonica to any tuning you prefer.
Reeds
Reed curvatures are fine-tuned and optimized for better response.
All of my custom diatonic harmonicas are Richter tuned to 442Hz with a compromised temperament. However, I can customize the tuning to your preferred temperament if needed. Most players find my compromised temperament works perfectly for them.
